Cyclops will be able to supply you with a quotation on electronic components, semiconductors and Integrated Circuits that will meet your lead-free and RoHS standards.
What is RoHS?
RoHS refers to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive which came into force on 1st July 2006, followed by an update, RoHS 2, in July 2011. It restricts the use of 6 hazardous materials in the manufacture of electronic and electrical products.
What are the Restricted Materials?
The materials covered under RoHS are:
- Hexavalent Chromium
- Polybrominated biphenyls
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers
Why is RoHS important?
These materials are hazardous to the environment and to people working with them during manufacturing or recycling. Limiting their usage and ensuring correct procedures are put in place regarding their use will help lessen the impact on the planet and to workers.
