The WEEE Directive
Complying with the WEEE Directive
European legislation now requires every manufacturer and producer to arrange and finance the collection, treatment, recycling and environmentally safe disposal of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
The introduction of the WEEE Directive aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic equipment on the environment during its lifetime, and then after when it becomes waste. It applies to a huge array of products from laptops to hairdryers and washing machines to mobile phones.
It encourages and sets criteria for the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment. With improved treatment of waste, it could reduce the risk to human health and the environment, reduce air pollution and water toxicity and would help divert millions of tonnes of WEEE from
Cyclops Electronics fully support the WEEE Directive and you can view our combined RoHS and WEEE Directive Statement here
